GCU History

Greenwood Credit Union has a long history of providing high quality financial services to individuals and families throughout Warwick, Kent County, the State of Rhode Island and beyond.  Founded in 1948, Greenwood Credit Union has always shown a strong commitment to the financial well-being of the families, businesses and communities that we serve.

Over the years Greenwood Credit Union has shown steady positive growth and is now over $350 million in total assets and continuing to grow.  We have always strived to provide the highest interest rates to our depositors while maintaining extremely competitive rates on our loan products. This delicate balance has proved to be a key to the success of the credit union, not only financially but more importantly from a member satisfaction perspective.
